History and memory are not a pure chronicle of what happened, but are coloured by our perception and our priorities and so forth. We reshape history as we tell it. Yes...absolutely....but can you get a movie out of saying that? It seems close to a truism. I suppose the WAY you express that, in terms of movie-making, is where the artistry comes in.
